Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve written. There has just been so much going on.
We launched “The Sam Grow Band, Live at Goose Creek” at Vera’s Beach Club on August 25, and celebrated with Sam’s Manager Michael Gewirtzman and the usual suspects from Southern Maryland. I had a great time this summer hanging out with The Sam Grow Band Entourage at Gilligan’s and Vera’s, and want to thank all of you for your hospitality and for everything you do. CD sales at gigs have been going great, and we appreciate everything that goes into that result.
Also….I have to give a plug to Gene Quade’s new place on Cobb Island, Drift Away. I’ve been there a few times now, and they are set up beautifully for music. Gene is the bassist and BV singer for TSGB, and everything he does, he does right.
While we were launching Sam’s CD, we were also working on the new episode of Goose Creek Live for Comcast Channel 2, which began airing this week. And while THAT was going on we were doing the post production work for David Kitchen’s Live at Goose Creek album, which goes to mastering at Airshow on Monday (which also happens to be the day I turn 50).
David’s album is a big step forward for Goose Creek Music…the band’s performances are both tight and inspired, and it’s exactly the sort of music I dreamed of producing when I started the company. Co-producer Stuart Martin has coaxed every tiny nuance out of the recordings…when we get lucky and catch lightening in a bottle like this, there’s no one else I’d want managing the mix.
The launch party for “David Kitchen Live at Goose Creek” will be December 4 at 9:30pm at the M&S Grill in Reston Towne Center. It’s a Friday night, and a perfect opportunity to do a little holiday shopping, then have a few drinks and listen to some great music. David and the band will do tunes from the album, then while they’re mingling with the crowd, Emma Bailey and her band will keep everyone moving.
One last thing…WAMMIE season is coming, and we’d sure appreciate support from any of you that are members of The Washington Area Music Association. Goose Creek Music produced 3 showcase concerts and a live album, and launched a music video TV show in the first 9 months of 2009…I would love to see recognition of the incredible work by our artists, engineers, and post-production crew.
Cheers,
Mike Pugh
